8GB of RAM would be a bare minimum, with an upgrade path to 16GB but if you're buying a new PC get 16GB on day one.
I wouldn't build a PC in 2018 without 16GB of RAM, and while you might not use all of that 16GB of memory your apps, software, games, and web browser sure will.
